As we head into the 2026 irrigation season, the Town of Eaton has an important update for all non-potable irrigation users regarding pump operations and water management.

Pumps Running Through End of April

To give residents sufficient time to schedule sprinkler repairs and adjustments with their contractors, Town staff will keep the irrigation pumps running through the end of April. We encourage all irrigation users to take advantage of this window to ensure their systems are ready for the season.

Daily Pump Shutoff Begins May 4th

Starting Monday, May 4, 2026, staff will be turning off the irrigation pumps each day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.This scheduled daily shutoff is necessary to help ensure water levels do not drop to dangerous levels within our system as the dry winter has lowered the groundwater level.

Why Is This Being Done?

While non-potable irrigation water comes from a different, renewable source than our potable water, the Town needs to manage the use of that water after an extremely dry winter, which limits the amount of recharge for the groundwater. Staff wants to ensure the pumps do not get close to drawing in gravel, due to low levels of water in aquifers and wells.

The Town appreciates your patience and cooperation as we work to protect this shared resource for the entire community.
