International Building et al. Codes
On November 20, 2025, the Town of Eaton adopted Ordinance 664, which amended Section 1 of Chapter VI of the Eaton Municipal Code to adopt the 2024 Editions of:
- International Building Code
- International Residential Code
- International Mechanical Code
- International Fuel Gas Code
- International Plumbing Code
- International Energy Conservation Code
- International Property Maintenance Code
- International Existing Building Code
- National Electrical Code
- International Swimming Pool and Spa Code
- Colorado Model Electric and Solar Ready Code
- Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code
These codes will go into effect January 1, 2026.

Other Permitting Details
- Payment - Upon completion of reviews, an invoice will be sent to the email address you provided.
- Make a payment in CommunityCore or call the town to make a payment. Permits will not be issued until approved and all payments are received.
- Issuance - Upon issuance, you will need to download and print the permit and have it on-site for the inspector.
- Schedule Inspections - You can schedule inspections through CommunityCore in the Schedule Inspections tab.
- Notifications will be sent with the results.
- CO/TCO/CC - Upon completion of all workflow steps listed in CommunityCore, you will be able to print the final CO.
- The town will sign and email the CO/CC/TCO to the email address on file.
- Permit Closed
Notice to Contractors and Homeowners
The Town of Eaton requires an "Energy Compliance Certificate" as part of the requirements to show compliance with the 2024 International Energy Conservation Code.
Along with the Certificate form, leak test reports for Ductwork and Building Envelope will be required. The Certificate form will be available for download on the Town of Eaton's Building Department website and the SAFEbuilt website. Testing reports and the Certificate should be completed and available to the inspector during final inspections and will be required before the Certificate of Occupancy.
